Vintage Creek Chub Beetle Lures
First introduced in 1931, the Creek Chub Beetle fishing lures are one of my most favorites because of its unique design and beautiful colors for both cataloged and non-cataloged models. The first Beetle was made with series number 3800, which is distinguished by its two pearl spinner on the tail, was in production for more than 20 years. The Creek Chub Midget Beetle, 6000 series was introduced back in 1939. One of the features that distinguished the Midget Beetle from 3800 Beetle is the tail spinner. 6000 Midget Beetle came with only one tail spinner instead of two. But it used the same colors as the 3800 Beetle fishing lures. The Midget Beetle lures were also discontinued in 1954.
Both Beetle lures are one of the favored collectibles right now among the collectors. Try to find the non-cataloged special color variations on eBay.
