The Heddon fishing lures are made by the Heddon Company, which was founded in 1902. James Heddon, the founder of the company, is the maker of the first artificial fishing lures made of wood in the late 1890s.If you are a fishing lure collector, I'm sure you know the story behind James Heddon and how he made his famous hand carved frog. Since the invention of the first wooden fishing lure, the Heddon company manufactured more than 40 models until the company was sold. By 1950 the Heddon brand name was well known and they were producing over 12,000 lures a day. Since then, the Heddon company was sold to EBSCO and they are still making great fishing lures to this date.
